Dr. Alexander Tsang is a board certified ophthalmologist. He joined Primary Eye Care Center in 2018 after over fifteen years of surgical practice in federal and hospital settings. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. From there, he entered military service in the USAF and was first stationed at the prestigious School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio. Afterwards, Dr. Tsang headed the ophthalmology service at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.
After active duty, Dr. Tsang practiced full-spectrum comprehensive ophthalmology in Anchorage and East Pennsylvania, with the Veterans Administration, as well as private and hospital practices. He focuses on cataract and oculoplastic surgeries, as well as glaucoma and many types of ocular laser surgeries. He diagnoses and treats ophthalmic conditions from injuries, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, complex refractive problems, stereopsis and other oculomotor defects. Dr. Tsang has experience serving in infection control, pharmaceutics, therapeutics, industrial hygiene, and other committees at previous hospitals and bases. Dr. Tsang is on staff at The Eye Surgery Center, Hartford Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital.
Dr. Tseng continues to serve as a flight surgeon in the Air National Guard, travels frequently with his family, and dabbles in a variety of home renovation and mechanical projects in his off times. He and his wife Gloria have three school-aged children.
