Dr. Beharrie is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and followed with a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. During his fellowship, Dr. Beharrie served as one of the assistant team physicians for the New York Jets. Dr. Beharrie has 15 years of clinical experience and was named a top Orthopedic Surgeon in Orange County, New York, where he previously practiced. Throughout his career he has treated athletes at all levels, including high school, college, professional and the weekend warrior. His clinical interests include complex conditions of the knee and shoulder, including repairs, reconstructions, and fracturess. He has expertise in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability and labral repairs, and the management of shoulder fracturess. In addition, he specializes in ligament repair and reconstruction of the knee, patella instability, meniscal repair, tibial osteotomies, cartilage restoration procedures, and total and partial knee replacements surgery.
Dr. Beharrie is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Beharrie was born in Kinston, Jamaica where he lived until he was 8 years old. He then emigrated to the United States with his family and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with his wife, daughter and son.
