Asma Saud graduated with honors in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and obtained her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her intern year at Highland Hospital, Oakland and her ophthalmology residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.
Training as an Emergency Medical Technician inspired her early medical interests and led to involvement in other forms of community service such as the Peru Health Outreach Program, which she co-led to facilitate visits from the Cleveland-based medical teams to the Lamay district of Peru. She presented and published research related to inherited retinal degenerations in the journal of investigative ophthalmology & visual science. She aims to bridge cultural gaps in medical care with the surrounding Muslim and Arab American communities.
Asma enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, especially outdoors hiking and camping.
