Brian C. Salzano, M.D. graduated from Glen Ridge High School in NJ in 1991 with honors.
He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ.
After graduating from college, Dr. Salzano relocated to Philadelphia to work on a clinical research project at the MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery. While completing his research, Dr. Salzano decided to continue his formal studies of science at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completing his stay in Philadelphia, he returned to Rutgers to continue with his post-baccalaureate education in the neurosciences and molecular biology and biochemistry. Then, Dr. Salzano decided to pursue a career in medicine. In 1998, he matriculated at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ in the New Jersey Medical School.
While completing an elective in the Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Salzano became interested in the science of the eye and its visual pathways, and he pursued these interests at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. At UVA Dr. Salzano was trained in the medical and surgical treatment of eye disease. Upon the completion of his residency program, Dr. Salzano returned to his hometown in New Jersey and worked in private practice with other physicians for 5 years. Eventually, he decided to branch out and open his own eye clinic in Caldwell, NJ. Thus, the Salzano Eye Center was created.
Dr. Brian Salzano is Board Certified as an eye physician and surgeon by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Also, he is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In addition, Dr. Salzano has studied with world renowned ophthalmic surgeon Dr. Amar Agarwal perfecting sutureless, small incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery in his specialized eye hospital located in Chennai, India.
