Professional Statement: Dr. Frank Ruiz is a board certified gastroenterologist who has been in private practice since 1999. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall University and his medical school diploma from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ – Newark in 1993. Dr. Ruiz completed his internal medicine residency at UMDNJ – University Hospital, where he served as Chief Medical Resident during his third year at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship at UMDNJ, where he served as Chief Fellow of GI. Since leaving UMDNJ, he has developed a thriving gastroenterology practice in Passaic and Bergen counties. Dr. Ruiz is an attending physician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. He has served as Chief of Gastroenterology at St. Mary’s Hospital for the past five years. Dr. Ruiz was born and raised in Bronx, NY, and is fluent in English and Spanish. He is a loving husband and father, an avid tennis player competing regularly in USTA leagues, and holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He maintains an active lifestyle, which helps him enjoy his work and home life.
