Dr. Frank Traupman is a General and Acute Care Surgeon within the Department of Surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Traupman earned his BA at College of the Holy Cross in 2001 while also playing Varsity football, and his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2008. He completed his general surgery residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 2014. He is board certified in General Surgery.
During his surgical residency he received the Schulte award for following the tradition for outstanding clinicians in the field of surgery and the Diener award from his fellow residents as the most inspirational colleague. He also received the Bob Dorian Memorial Resident Teaching Award for his outstanding teaching aptitude. As a surgical resident Dr. Traupman traveled to Milot, Haiti for two medical missions. Under his guidance, the surgeons at the local hospital in Milot were able to perform over 60 procedures and some of their first laparoscopic cases. He is devoted to teaching the residents, nurses, and medical students at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Dr. Traupman is a phenomenal addition to the Department of Surgery as a surgeon and a physician committed to performing a broad spectrum of general surgery. He is also devoted to bringing Saint Barnabas Medical Center advancements by assisting with our length of stay initiative and building upon our already strong residency program ¬and developing an Acute Care Surgery service. In addition, he is also dedicated to further developing our platforms in Robotic and Minimally Invasive surgery.
