Biography:
Hailing from San Angelo, Texas, Dr. Jason Huffman has established himself as a respected physician in the field of gastroenterology, credited with a rich educational background in chemistry and medicine. Dr. Huffman embarked on his medical journey at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate and master’s degrees in chemistry with honors. His passion for science and helping others propelled him through an extensive training regimen, including an internal medicine residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, where he gained expertise in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
Dr. Huffman’s career has been marked by his roles as the director of endoscopy at Salisbury VA Medical Center, North Carolina, and a clinical instructor in Hepatology at The University of Texas Health Science Center. Since joining GIA in 2016, he has been an invaluable asset to the team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
His clinical interests include celiac disease and acute acalculous cholecystitis, topics on which he has presented and published extensively. Dr. Huffman is distinguished not only by his medical achievements but also by his dedication to patient care, emphasizing the importance of supporting patients and their families through both challenges and triumphs in their health journeys.
Outside the medical environment, Dr. Huffman is a devoted family man and outdoor enthusiast, enjoying woodworking, hiking, and spending quality time with his sons. He values early morning self-reflection and prayer, embodying his personal motto of always being grateful and seeking wisdom, as inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 and Matthew 6:25-34.
