Dr. Josh Vella is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College. He completed a graduate program in Anatomy at Saint Louis University and earned his medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine respectively. Dr. Vella completed his fellowship in hand surgery at the Indiana Hand Center and brings the newest innovations in hand surgery to the Phoenix area.
He has presented topics at national hand society meetings and has published articles in the leading hand journal. He has participated in clinical research topics including carpal tunnel, ganglion cysts and wrist fractures. Dr. Vella served as a clinical investigator for national research regarding Xiaflex (collagenase) treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture. He is an expert in all aspects of hand, wrist and elbow conditions and has distinguished himself in the areas of carpal tunnel syndrome, treatment of tendonitis, fracture care, traumatic reconstruction, arthritis and tendon transfers. He has served as consultant for professional athletes in the NFL, WPGA and Phoenix Roadrunners and also for college athletes. Dr. Vella holds membership at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
