Dr. Kara M. De Felice is an accomplished physician specializing in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. De Felice received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology from McNeese State University in 2005, followed by her Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2009.
She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins University in 2012, where she honed her clinical skills and gained valuable experience. Dr. De Felice further pursued her specialization through a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in 2015, where she received comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of digestive diseases.
Dr. De Felice is board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her clinical interests primarily revolve around Gastroenterology, with a specific focus on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Throughout her professional journey, Dr. De Felice has held various positions and contributed significantly to the field of Gastroenterology. From 2015 to 2021, she served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology at Louisiana State University, where she also held the role of Director of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In 2021, she transitioned to the University of Cincinnati as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Digestive Diseases and assumed the role of Director of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic.
Dr. De Felice’s commitment to research is evident through her participation in numerous publications. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including articles on patients’ perceptions of biologic therapy, endoscopic features of pseudomelanosis duodeni, women’s health in inflammatory bowel disease, and clinical features of Crohn’s Disease of the esophagus.
