Dr. Cerefice provides specialty care in all areas of digestive and liver diseases. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Cerefice completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Viriginia. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was awarded the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanismand Excellence in Teaching Award. He received his undergraduate education at James Madison University, and completed his medical school training at Saint George’s University School of Medicine, where he was the recipient of the Legacy of Excellence Scholarship.
He is an active member of a number of professional societies, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.
Dr. Cerefice treats patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, pancreaticobiliary disorders, and chronic liver disease. His other professional interests include esophageal diseases , nutrition, celiac disease, and colorectal cancer screening. In his spare time he enjoys sports, the ocean, and most of all, being with his family.
