- Pain Management
Dr. Mogana Ashar, originally from Yonkers, New York, became interested in the field of medicine as a child. She grew up very close to her grandmother who suffered from Chronic Pain so throughout the progression of her disease, Dr. Ashar was used to the many different treatment modalities ranging from exercises, dietary changes, medications, injections, and eventually minimally invasive spinal surgery. Witnessing these areas of treatment has driven her to apply the same principles into her Interventional and Integrative Pain Practice at OAA. Dr. Ashar attended medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and then went on to complete her residency program in Interventional Pain Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Ashar will be joining OAA as an Interventional Pain Provider treating pain from Head to Toe including neck, back, abdominal, and pelvic pain along with post operative and joint related pain. Dr. Ashar has always had strong family roots in the Lehigh Valley, so she is excited to join OAA and the “close knit community feel” that the practice brings to the area. She truly enjoys seeing progress, improvement and growth in her patients and works to restore quality of life for all patients.
In her free time Dr. Ashar enjoys hiking, taking road trips to national parks, learning about different cultures and spending time with family, friends, and her cat. She also practices yoga regularly as she was a former yoga instructor as well.
