Dr. Neha Kumar was raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kent State University and went on to receive her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her medical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, followed by ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Kumar is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has professional affiliations with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Delaware Academy of Ophthalmology. She serves on the medical staff of both St. Francis Hospital and Kent General Hospital.
Dr. Kumar practices comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology. Her scope of practice includes but is not limited to no-stitch small incision cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants, the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, and the medical treatment of retinal disorders including diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. In addition to the above, she provides routine eye care for people of all ages, children and adults.
