Dr. Penny Turtel graduated from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship, Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and additional training in Nutrition at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and of the American College of Gastroenterology. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
She is a member of the Medical Education Committee of the New Jersey chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. She has published in the fields of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Nutrition and Small Bowel Diseases, which are ongoing areas of special interest.
