Professional Statement:

Dr. Longobardi graduated with a bachelor’s of science in biology from Fordham University in 1986, before earning his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine in 1990. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at NYU Medical Center, as well as an orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at the Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Since 1996, Dr. Longobardi has been in a private practice, with offices at NYU Medical Center and in Hackensack, NJ. He has authored various articles related to the shoulder, presenting his work both nationally and internationally. Dr. Longobardi has been active teaching at NYU School of Medicine, and is currently a faculty member of the NYU Langone Medical Center-Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been a Faculty Mentor to the students of NYU School of Medicine for their Professionalism course, as well as an active member of the Admissions Committee for NYU School of Medicine. As a result of years of dedicated service and commitment to medical education, in May of 2009, he was named, and remains, a member of NYU School of Medicine’s Board of Governors. At his alma mater, Fordham University, he participates as a member of the Dean’s Pre-Health Advisory Board and Science Council.

He also participates as a Mentor and Advisor for Fordham University pre-medical students. Further, since 2008, he collaborates with Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, NJ, mentoring high school students with an interest in medicine.
