Dr. Perkins, a native South Carolinian, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Appalachian State University. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina where he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers.
He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, in Winston Salem NC, earning the designation of Tinsley R. Harrison Translational Research Program Scholar. Dr. Perkins is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the South Carolina Medical Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Dr. Perkins enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies include playing guitar, fishing, and mountain biking.
