Biography:
A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Dr. Zachary Dickson has distinguished himself both academically and professionally in the field of gastroenterology. Dr. Dickson’s journey began with a Summa Cum Laude graduation from the University of Tennessee, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry cellular and molecular biology. Furthering his education, he earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida before returning to Tennessee to complete his MD at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Dickson’s postgraduate training encompassed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia. Throughout his residency and fellowship, Dr. Dickson actively contributed to the medical community through numerous published abstracts on gastrointestinal disorders and presentations at national meetings. His commitment to global health was demonstrated through his participation in multiple medical mission trips, providing care to underserved populations.
Board certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Dickson is a dedicated member of several leading medical organizations in his field, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Dickson enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Ali, and their young twin boys. An avid supporter of Tennessee sports, Dr. Dickson also prioritizes staying active through exercise, hiking, and engaging in outdoor activities with his family.
